Trailer Camping...this is the Life!

SO over Father's Day Weekend we went "window" shopping for a camper trailer. Something we have been discussing on getting for a while now. We love camping and as campers we have really evolved. Anyway, we totally bought one but we love it and have already used it a bunch! So Happy Father's Day Lars!
I also got Lars a "Man-edible-arrangement" but who cares about that...we just bought ourselves a camper trailer. YIKES!!!!
Here is our home away from home

We took it out and did some camping with Lars brother.

Roan became good friends with their dog, Angus. He followed him around and kept asking him what he was doing? Or he would try and help get him to come somewhere.
Our campsite had a swing.
The Aspen trees were stunning.
Roan helped collect firewood

We hiked a lot and Roan found sticks

Then we went fishing. We didn't catch anything but had fun trying.

Roan is really good at throwing and reeling but never sticks with it long enough to catch anything. Too much to see and do as a toddler I guess.

We found a crawfish
Snuggles with Grandma by the fire.

First breakfast at the camper table.

We had a lot of fun camping with our brother and Mom. Can't wait to go out again. Camping with a trailer is so awesome. I still love roughing it with a tent but man I am getting used to this. We are totally game if you want to come out with us sometime. Seriously, just scheduled it with us and you can come.
That is how we roll!

June Kitchen Sink

June was a busy month. I seriously thought summer was going to be low key but we have had something fun each week. This post is out of order but a kitchen sink dedication to some of the fun we had.
Roan has been in love with his train....again.

It is really cute to watch him play and hear the stories he makes up.
Summer has been made easy when you have a toddler that will help you carry everything.

In one weekend we went to the local Aquarium and Zoo. Roan loved the fish and the monkeys.

Lars had to work on Memorial day so I took Roan to a splash pad. He LOVED IT!
I had to pry him away from the water to eat lunch.

We found this nest in our bush. Since then a few of the eggs have hatched but there is still one left that didn't make it :(
Roan prefers to ride in the cart now. Does this make him a big boy now?
Karen came into town and we had a blast catching up over a dinner and a show. I love these ladies so much.

This boy is a nut with a nutella mustache.

He loves nursery so much that sometimes I bring him to nursery during Enrichment.
uh oh...someone found my front view camera on my phone

How close can he get.
:)

July 4th

Our July 4th was quiet. Lars had to work so me and the boy got some one on one time in.
We had a pancake breakfast. :)
Then we met up with some dear CA Bookclub friends for our box exchange.
I don't know if I have ever discussed this group of fine ladies on here. Just know that they are amazing and even though we all have moved across the country we still remain very involved in each others lives through our box exchanges, facebook, and occasionally met ups. Woot! Friendship knows no distance.
I had Ann and got her some of my favorite summer items.
Here we are screaming AMERICA!!
When Roan and Indy weren't chasing the train they hung out by the fountain.
That evening we enjoyed kaboobs for dinner and pie for dessert. For me America means pie!
Happy Birthday America!

This Boy

This boy has been growing so much lately. I wanted to make a post just for him.
Roan is full of soooo much energy. If we let him he would seriously just run around the house screaming.
He is easily enchanted with our phones and tv. His favorite shows are anything with Elmo, Star Wars, and Super Why. I love watching him watch Super Why. He interacts with the show and is talking so much better.
Okay so this post isn't entirely about him. Look how cute my hair curls when I take the time to do it.

Roan loves sweets. Sometimes too much I am afraid. Everyday he asks for Nutella on toast. If it is on too think then he gives it back. SO spoiled and it is all my fault. Trust me he does eat healthy most of the time.
We got a new swing and love it. Roan loves to go to the park and slide down the "weee".

He is a happy silly kid and loves to make faces in the mirror
He is very active and loves to be outside. He is getting brave and learning how to climb on things and jump off of high places. When he falls down he immediately tries to to get back up while saying, "I OK, MOMMEEE."  When he isn't okay he runs to Lars or I and wants a kiss on his boo boo.

He is still learning how to share and play nice. He will share with Mom, Dad, & Grandma. He is a big fat tease too. I love letting him play but we are working on when it is okay to goof off and when it is time to get ready to go or get ready for bed. Occasionally he tries to avoid certain activities like brushing his teeth or prayers. He thinks that if he doesn't do them then he won't have to go to bed. LOL. Not the case.

He loves to play with other kids. He used to be really shy and cling to Mom or Dad but now he pushes us out of the way so he can get his play time in especially with his cousins.

We love this kid so much. He keeps things lively for us. :) Boys are so much fun!
