Allergic Scare

We had a first with Liv in July. She had an allergic reaction to penicillin. We are going to take her to an allergist to be sure. On Thursday she started getting a rash around parts of her body. We took her to the doctor and we stopped giving her the other medicine and started giving her Benadryl.
Friday she started swelling up like a balloon
We took her back into the doctor. Poor Liv was in so much pain. She kept saying, "Help me!" and was so cuddly. The doctors gave her a steroid treatment and gave us a list of things to look for that warranted a visit to the ER. We were also instructed to return the following day for more testing.
We didn't sleep much that night. I was very worried. I set an alarm to check on her every hour to ensure she was still breathing. She was, thankfully.

Saturday the swelling was down and the red rashes were spreading but clearing up. She was more talkative. The follow up visit went well and we continues the steroid treatment.

We tried to just sleep.

Sunday she was feeling much better...she asked to wear shoes. It was darling.
We did another follow up visit and they basically cleared her and told us to come back if this, this, or this happened. They told us that her skin would clear up in a few week. But for us, it happened in a few days. I thank God for this. We gave her a priesthood blessing when all this started and it told her that she would heal quickly. We just had to work through the tough part of seeing your child suffer a bit. I prayed a lot. I wanted her pain to go away and I was willing to have it instead. As bad as this was we were very blessed that it was not worse.

Here she is Sunday afternoon. She was much more herself.
We appreciate all the meals, texts, phone calls, and prayers. It meant so much!
