We tried to go camping a few weeks ago and it didn't go as planned. We got on the road and part way up the Canyon our battery light came on. A few minutes later our truck died. Thankfully it died near a spot we could pull over at. We called an amazing friend who lived close by. He came and got Lars while the kids and I played in the trailer on the side of the road. They brought a battery back and sadly that did not work which meant it was the alternator :( We needed to get the truck to the shop and couldn't go camping. We were all bummed.
Our awesome friend hooked up the trailer to his truck and he followed us all the way to the shop and then took us home. We felt incredibly blessed to have a wonderful friend kill his Friday night plans to help us. We were super grateful that no one was hurt and that everything, even though it wasn't what we hoped for, worked out safely. Things really could have gone south and they didn't. We took the kids swimming the next day and will try to camp again another time. The alternator was also covered under a warranty. YAY!!!
Priorities. The kids need their toys to ride with us. LOL
